TIME Magazine praises Mark Zuckerberg for creating a system that has connected people around the world with each other.
As for Person of the Year, we couldn't find the dislike button on Facebook for TIME's choice, so we made our own. Here's our version of the magazine:
Unfortunately, the terms under which he claims to have done this set a terrible precedent for our future — for our control over the software we use to interact with each other, for control over our data, and for our privacy. The damage is not limited to Facebook users. Because so many sites — including TIME — use Facebook's user-tracking "Like" button, Zuckerberg is able to collect information about people who aren't even users of his site. These are precedents which hurt our ability to freely connect with each other. He has created a network that is first and foremost a gold mine for government surveillance and advertisers. We have been waiting with baited breath to find out the outcome of deliberations between Full Tilt Poker (FTP) legal representatives, and the Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC). A hearing in this regard, took place ‘in camera’ last week in London, and there was huge hue and cry regarding the fact that the hearing was not made public. After over a week of deliberations the AGCC has revoked all FTP licenses with immediate effect. Licenses for trading as Full Tilt Poker were held with Oxalic Limited, Vantage Limited and Filco Limited. Orinic Limited – a recent sub-division licensee of FTP, remains suspended for now.
The reason for this decision is cited to be “serious breaches in regulations”, and follows, perhaps not so fast on the heels of the suspension of all licenses on June 29th 2011.
The hearing was held over six days, and it seems to be true to form – that FTP was found to have “fundamentally misled the AGCC”. This is with regards to their operational integrity. The Alderney Gambling Control Commission released a statement today which in no uncertain terms said; that FTP had failed to report material events, had breached regulations by making use of unauthorized credit provision, and had reported that funds were liquid, despite the fact that these funds had been seized by US authorities.
It looks to us that the serious poker minds behind Full Tilt Poker have tried to pull off the biggest bluff of their careers; only this time it did not work. They have been accused by US authorities of making payments in the millions, to shareholders, while their loyal members have paid the price. In fact the US Attorneys Office has publicly called this once famous online poker site, a Global ‘Ponzi” scheme. This is a very hectic allegation to make publicly, so, we assume that perhaps the DoJ is sure of their evidence?

Apple has lost a visionary & creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being. Those of us who have followed his work or have been fortunate enough to have worked with Steve who has inspired people all over the world has lost a dear friend and an inspiring mentor. He leaves behind a company that only he could have built - The founder of apple. My personal opinion is that apple are going to have to do a hell of a lot of work to compete in the market, especially the way the economy is heading. Without

How to Win Friends and Influence People is one of the first bestselling self-help books ever published. Written by Dale Carnegie and first published in 1936, it has sold 15 million copies world-wide.
Leon Shimkin of the publishing firm Simon & Schuster took one of the 14-week courses given by Carnegie in 1934. Shimkin persuaded Carnegie to let a stenographer take notes from the course to be revised for publication. In 1981, a new revised edition with updated language and anecdotes was released. The revised edition reduced the number of sections from 6 to 4, eliminating sections on effective business letters and improving marital satisfaction.
